Let's Talk about Simple Present Tense

(Bentuk waktu saat ini )

Adik-adik yang sholeh dan sholehah, kali ini saya akan membagi sedikit  Bahasa Inggris yang berhubungan dengan bentuk waktu. Yuk kita simak penjelasan berikut ini:

Kita mulai dengan pengertian Simple Present Tense

Ada yang tahu?
Ya, Simple Present Tense adalah bentuk waktu yang menjelaskan kejadian pada saat sekarang atau bentuk saat ini yang terjadi secara teratur atau habitual activity ( daily routine) . Pada Simple Present Tense kita bisa temukan 3 bentuk kalimat dalam bentuk positif, negatif dan pertanyaan. 


1. Auxiliary Verbs : does and do

Does  is used for subjects : She, He and It
Do is used for subjects : They, We, I and You

Commonly there will be changes for the verb pattern if we use the subjects : she, he and it
But, there will not any changes for the verb pattern if we use the subjects : they, we, I and You.

2.  Example :  we add es/s to some verbs in Simple Present Tense
                   teach-teaches, walk-walks, watch-watches, climb-climbs
   
    Formula : Subject +Verb 1+es/s + Object

  1. Ms. Santi teaches English in the class.
  2. Mr. Roy walks to the school yard.
  3. The cat climbs the wall.

    Example: We don't need to put any s or es to a verb
  1. They play football in the field.
  2. We see many birds in the sky.
  3. You study hard for the exam.

We have seen some examples above. Now let see the use of Simple Present Tense in negative forms.

3. Formula : Subject + do/does not + Verb 1 

   1. Ms . Santi does not teach English in the class.
   2. Mr. Roy does not walk to the school yard.
   3. The cat does not climb the wall.

   1. They do not play football in the field
   2. We do not see many birds in the sky.
   3. You do not study for the exam.


 4. Formula : Do / Does + Subject + Verb 1+ Object + ?

    1. Does ms. Santi teach English?
    2. Does mr. Roy walk to the school yard?
    3. Does the cat climb the wall?

    1. Do  they play football in the field?
    2. Do we see many birds in the sky?
    3. Do you study for the exam?

5. Adverb of time ( Keterangan waktu )
    We commonly use adverb of time such as :
    everyday, every week, every month, every year, on Saturdays (every Saturday)
    on Sundays. etc.
